If you’re spending your vacation in Netanya and want to enjoy a full day of relaxation, here’s a perfect Saturday escape plan — a road trip to the Dead Sea.

Wake up early, have a light breakfast, and head south by car toward Ein Bokek, Israel’s main resort area on the Dead Sea. The journey takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes, following scenic highways that wind through the Judean Desert.

Along the way, you’ll pass a key junction where one road leads to the Dead Sea and another to the Red Sea. This is a great place to stop for a short rest and stretch your legs before the descent through the desert mountains.

Before the steep mountain road turns toward the Dead Sea, look for a viewpoint on the left side of the highway. It’s easy to recognize — there’s a wooden gazebo and usually a few parked cars and motorcycles. From here, you can take beautiful family photos with the Dead Sea shimmering in the background — a view you’ll never forget.

It’s the perfect start to a peaceful day surrounded by nature, warm desert air, and the magical stillness of the lowest place on Earth.

The Lot Hotel is the ideal place to relax, recharge, and fully experience the healing power of the Dead Sea. Located right in the heart of Ein Bokek’s promenade, it offers everything you need for a perfect day of rest and wellness.

For 240 shekels, you can enjoy full access to all hotel facilities — including a freshwater pool, a spacious sun terracewith umbrellas and loungers, a delicious buffet lunch, and the highlight of the day: a heated Dead Sea water pool kept at a soothing +37–38°C.

This is a safe and comfortable way to experience the unique properties of the Dead Sea without worrying about the sun, wind, or salt irritation.Remember, it’s recommended to stay in the mineral-rich water for no more than 15 minutes at a time to avoid skin dryness. Afterward, rinse off in one of the four modern showers conveniently located near the pool area.

Next to the pools, you’ll also find a mild dry sauna and a freshwater jacuzzi, perfect for unwinding after your swim.

After your spa experience, take a slow walk along the Ein Bokek promenade, breathe in the still desert air, and enjoy the mesmerizing views of the Jordanian mountains shimmering across the water. Along the way, you can browse charming shops selling Dead Sea cosmetics, or stop for a coffee or snack — there’s a beach burger café and an Aroma Espresso Bar near the mall.

Driving back to Netanya through the quiet desert at night, you’ll feel completely refreshed, relaxed, and filled with peace — what Israelis call a real “Yom Kef” (a day of fun and joy).
