Insects:
Because of the warm Mediterranean climate, insects are present year-round.
Mosquitoes are rare but may appear if the hotel hasn’t recently treated the area. Bring or buy repellents or plug-in devices (available in local pharmacies).

Flying visitors:
Occasionally, you may see harmless moths or palm beetles (up to 5–6 cm) entering open windows at night. They’re not dangerous but can be unpleasant — simply keep windows closed after dark to avoid them.

Good to know:

  • Israel doesn’t have a national booking system.

  • Israeli citizens pay an additional 17% VAT, while foreign tourists are exempt — meaning that hotel prices for tourists are automatically 17% lower than for locals.

  • All hotels offer free Wi-Fi, and most provide complimentary bottled water on the first day of your stay.

If you’re staying in a budget hotel, it’s a good idea to buy your own water in advance — especially before Shabbat, when stores close from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning. Buying a pack of bottles at a supermarket will also be about twice as cheap as purchasing individual ones.

Netanya Hotels

In Netanya, you won’t find massive resorts with endless pools and entertainment complexes like in Turkey or Greece.
Instead, each hotel here feels like a cozy home, offering comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, and a warm local atmosphere.

That’s exactly what makes Netanya special — it’s a city for those who want to experience authentic Israeli coastal life.
Beaches, promenades, parks, playgrounds, and sports areas are open and accessible to everyone, creating a sense of community and relaxation that feels both genuine and welcoming.

You can book hotels in Netanya through major international platforms such as Booking.com, Agoda.com, or TripAdvisor.
Many hotels also have their own websites, but prices usually don’t differ significantly.

Business Hotels Netanya

Netanya is first and foremost a resort city, which means that many hotels are family-oriented and located in quiet coastal areas with limited public transport access.
Some of these seaside resorts operate as apartment hotels — offering rooms with small kitchens but no breakfast service.

For travelers coming to Netanya on business or for a short stay, it’s often more convenient to stay in the city center — close to cafés, banks, shops, and public transport.

Below, I’ve selected several hotels located in central Netanya that combine the best of both worlds:

  • a peaceful atmosphere,

  • clean and comfortable rooms,

  • proximity to the promenade and beaches,

  • and the convenience needed for a business trip or an active vacation.

Whether you’re visiting for work or leisure, these hotels offer a practical and pleasant base to explore the city and the Mediterranean coast.

When preparing for your trip, it’s tempting to save money by booking accommodation independently through platforms like Airbnb or Booking.com.
However, in Netanya, travelers should be aware of fraudulent listings — a problem that occasionally occurs in the city.

Some scammers advertise cheap apartments at prices much lower than hotels. Upon arrival, guests sometimes find themselves in poorly maintained buildings, often without air conditioning, hot water, or a working shower.
In the worst cases, the apartment or the owner doesn’t exist at all — these are real situations I’ve personally encountered while helping visitors.

Important to Consider: Meals and Shabbat Hours

If you stay in a private apartment rather than a hotel, you’ll need to plan your meals carefully, especially around Shabbat.

Shops and markets in Netanya close early on Friday (around 3:00 PM) and remain closed through Saturday evening.
That means you’ll need to buy groceries on Friday morning for both Friday and Saturday — and cook for yourself.

Hotels, on the other hand, provide breakfast and dinner, which makes your stay much more comfortable during weekends.

During Shabbat, most cafés and restaurants are closed, with only a few exceptions:

  • one café on Independence Square (Kikar Ha’Atzmaut)

  • another, Panorama Café, located on the seaside promenade

✅ My Advice

To avoid unpleasant surprises:

  • Book only through verified hotels or trusted hosts with a long history of reviews

  • Be cautious of offers that seem too cheap

  • Consider booking through me — I’ll help you choose safe, comfortable accommodation that fits your budget and ensures a peaceful vacation

Remember: a good hotel in Netanya means peace of mind, convenient meals, and no stress during Shabbat.
